WWE Wrestler up for Main Villain Role in new CONAN Film
Apparently WWE wrestler Shad Gaspard, who is part of the tag team Cryme Tyme, is up for the role of the main villain, Ukafa, in the new Conan the Barbarian reboot.
Gaspard revealed the news on his MySpace page, saying that he auditioned for the role of Ukafa. Of course all he did was audition, and has not been offered the part. He's gotten through the first round of casting and as of right now it's down to him and only a few other actors.
Gaspard is 29-years-old, 6'7 feet tall and weighs 285 lbs, and could definitely kick the ass of the guy they cast as Conan. He's definitely got the look and build of a villain. So I assume Conan is going to die in this movie.
As of right now, I have no interest in this film what-so-ever. I think the guy they cast as Conan, Jason Momoa, is completely wrong for the role and killed any kind of excitement for me about seeing this film. There are a ton of people that complained about the casting of Conan when the news broke. I'm all about casting lesser known actors for these kinds of roles but at least cast someone that fits the part!
The Conan reboot is being directed by Markus Nispel (Pathfinder, Friday the 13th). I have a feeling this movie is going to end up being something that should have gone direct to DVD.
What are you thoughts on the possibility of Shad Gaspard being cast as the villain in Conan?
