Fast & Furious 5 is revving up for Production with the Title FAST FIVE

We've heard that Universal Pictures was gearing up to get a fifth Fast & Furious film into production. I was kind of hoping it would all fall through and not get made, but that my friends, is not the case. The studio has already signed on Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, director Justin Lin and producer Neal Moritz to return to the franchise, for the fifth film which is being referred to as Fast Five

What the hell kind of title is Fast Five?! I hope that isn't the final title for the film because it's pretty awful. The last Fast & Furious film was the highest grossing in the franchise bringing in about $350 million dollars world wide. This last film was definitely not the best one out of the franchise. The first one was fun, the second one was the worst, Tokyo Drift was my favorite out of the bunch, and the fourth film just sucked.

Fast Five's story follows the two main characters Dom and Brian as fugitives being pursued by relentless lawmen. Because thats never been done before. Oh wait, they're going to be in fast cars so it should be awesome... right?

The world really doesn't need another Fast & Furious film, does it? I don't think anyone would miss it if it never happened. I guess Universal thinks this next film is going to make a decent amount of money, and you know what? It probably will. People will go out and see it. The film is set to start shooting later this year with a planned release sometime in 2011.

So what are your thoughts on yet another Fast & Furious film?
