News Corp. Pushing For AVATAR Sequel but not any time Soon

It's no surprise at all that FOX wants James Cameron to make a sequel to Avatar, it's no surprise that they are really pushing him to make it, it's no surprise that James Cameron has some great ideas for it, and it's no surprise that they are discussing it with each other. After all the movie has made well over $2 billion dollars. Just don't expect the sequel to happen anytime soon. News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch says that the conglomerate is in "very early talks about it." Director James Cameron "has ideas" for a sequel, but they "haven't come to any agreement with him or budget or timing." he then says "We will be pushing for one." Then adds that we shouldn't hold our breaths for an early one, due to the fact that Cameron usually takes his time making sure  his films are pitch perfect.

There is no doubt in my mind that we will see another Avatar film. It seems both Fox and Cameron are interested in making one and they both have intentions of doing it. It's just a matter of working out the details. THR also reports that,

The executives said financing of a sequel like of any movies these days would be key as News Corp. likes to lay off risk, especially since Cameron films tend to go over budget. But given the success of "Avatar," financing details could come together.

What the hell!? Avatar made over $2 billion dollars and they still have issues with financing a sequel?? They are worried about Cameron going over budget? Avatar made $2 billion dollars! "Financing details could come together?" What the hell is wrong with these studios? I just think it's crazy that the funding to the sequel of the most successful movie ever made is coming up as an issue.
