DC Comics Documentary is in the Works

It looks like we are eventually going to get an in-depth look at the history of DC Comics in a new documentary being created by director Jeffrey Blitz (Spellbound, Rocket ScienceLucky) and producer Sean Welch.

They revealed to Collider at the Sundance Film Festival that we may be able to watch this documentary at this years San Diego Comic-Con which is the perfect venue to premiere a movie like this. Welch said the project got started after DC Comic contacted them and asked if they wanted to do it.

DC Comics contacted us and asked if we would do this.  Jeff and the director are comic book enthusiasts since they were kids and remain comic book enthusiasts.  So yes, we have access to their archives, their material, their covers, their panels, the creatives and the executives in the DC world.

I'm a huge comic book fan and there is definitely a great and interesting story to be told in the history of DC Comics. I really hope they get into the good nitty gritty stuff. Like most companies there are a crazy amount of stories that deal with stealing, backstabbing, and drama. I want the real deal, I don't want to see a sugar coated one sided view of DC Comics. I want to know all the interesting stuff, not the stuff we already know.

Check out the video interview below where the project is talked about more in depth.
