Michael Cera may have rocked the bass guitar in Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist, but in Edgar Wright's adaptation of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World he wields both the bass and a FLAMING SWORD! Here's a hi-res photo of the first poster for the film which shows Cera without the latter, but has him reaching for the high notes through the bridge pickups of a Rickenbacker bass.
The teaser poster features the slogan, "An epic of epic epicness," a phrase I use only when ordering the Denny's grand slam breakfast, so this film must be good! The poster, seen at ShoWest 2010, is really just selling the film to people already "in the know," as this doesn't really hint towards the plot or any selling point of the film, besides Cera, who's face is pretty obscured. But we're already sold!
For Wright's follow up to Hot Fuzz, Cera is joined by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kieran Culkin, Chris Evans, Anna Kendrick, Brandon Routh, Alison Pill, and Jason Schwartzman.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World hits theaters August 13th.
