Here we have the first trailer for a British comedy called Four Lions. I saw this movie at The Sundance film Festival this year, and it was one of my favorite films at the festival. It was incredibly funny, despite the subject matter, which is sure to be controversial due to it's settings and characters. I just know some people wont find it funny at all. I guess I just have a sick sense of humor because this is one of the funniest films I've seen this year. You can read my full review of the film Right Here. The film was directed by Chris Morris, creator of Brass Eye, Jam and Blue Ja.
Four Lions tells the story of a group of British jihadists who push their abstract dreams of glory to the breaking point. As the wheels fly off, and their competing ideologies clash, what emerges is an emotionally engaging (and entirely plausible) farce. In a storm of razor-sharp verbal jousting and large-scale set pieces, Four Lions is a comic tour de force; it shows that—while terrorism is about ideology—it can also be about idiots.
The film opens up in the UK on May 7th, no international dates have been announced yet. Watch the trailer below and tell us what you think! Are you offended by it? Or is this a film you want to see?
