Rose McGowan Completes the Cast of CONAN
As director Marcus Nispel began rolling cameras Monday in Sofia, Bulgaria, there was only one piece left in the casting puzzle for his reboot of Conan. Ladies and gentlemen, mainly gentlemen, that piece was Rose McGowan, who will play an evil half-human/half-witch... no word on if she considers this a step down from her role on Charmed, in which she played a full witch, who was a half-sister to three other witches. Oh, how the mighty have fallen... from their roles as witches.
McGowan completes the cast led by Jason Momoa (Stargate: Atlantis), and featuring Stephen Lang (Avatar), Ron Perlman (Hellboy), and a trio of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra stars with Rachel Nichols, Said Taghmaoui and Leo Howard.
Momoa takes on the title role of Conan, Howard plays a younger version of him; Perlman plays their father; Taghmaoui plays a leader of thieves; Nichols plays Tamara, the lead female role; and Lang plays the main villain, the sadistic Khalar Singh.
Conan centers on the mythical hero driven to avenge the murder of his father and the slaughter of his village. Based on the Robert E. Howard books, the film was scripted by Thomas Dean Donnelly & Joshua Oppenheimer, with re-writes by Sean Hood and Andrew Lobel.
Lionsgate will handle the U.S distribution of the film.
