Smallville's Michael Rosenbaum Developing SyFy Comedy Series SAVED BY ZEROES

Smallville's Michael Rosenbaum (Lex) is teaming up with Sony and Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Productions to develop a new live-action single-camera comedy called Saved by Zeroes, which will air on the SyFy channel. The series was created by Rosenbaum, and will star himself and Jonathan Silverman. 

The show is based on Rosenbaum's personal experiences, and revolves around around two friends, former actors on a science fiction show that has since developed a cult following, who have hit rock bottom and must work together to get their lives back on track.

Saved By Zeroes will be a half hour comedy, which is something the SyFy channel wants to start doing more of, to help bring in younger audiences. 

Rosenbaum explains that he got the idea while attending numerous sci-fi/comic book conventions while he was on Smallville, and describes it as a Galaxy Quest meets Eastbound & Down. He goes on to describe the show a bit saying,

Through drugs and drinking, (the characters played by Rosenbaum and Silverman) didn't save money and, years later, the only thing they have left are the conventions, all they've got are their loyal, devoted fans. Our show is not about being in the business, it's about being out of the business; it's the 'Non-tourage.' We're the losers you want to see back on top.

I like the idea and I think it will make for a great show and a nice addition to the SyFy channel's line-up.
