Unconfirmed Descriptions of THOR Costumes
If you're aching to hear something, anything from the set of director Kenneth Branagh's adaptation of Marvel's Thor, than here's something to tide you over.
Someone by the name of IndustryKiller has been posting some hastily written descriptions of what the Thor costume designs look like in the TalkBacks at AICN. With promising quotes that the designs are "medieval future tech looking," and all sorts of other praise, it's easy to get excited. But keep in mind that this is an unconfirmed source.
What makes this harder to believe, is the fact that the set is so closely guarded that we've heard a story from the set that one day Branagh went up to the Head of Security and inquired why he was on the set. When the man explained who he was, Branagh paused for a moment, then explained, "This is closed set. Leave." When a film is so shrouded in secrecy that Security Guards keeping it secret are asked to leave... that's pretty dang secret. But I guess when the guards are asked not to guard, it's not as guarded???
I think the people who are behind the project is all the info I need to expect nothing but quality. But this is just some nice reassurance.
With that said, here are the quotes:
Everyone looks absolutely perfect, right down tot he color scheme. ANd its straight up medieval future tech looking. And yes Loki has black straight hair even know Hiddleston is blonde and curly.
(Fan Made Depiction of Hemsworth as Thor)
THor is balls accurate though complete with cape, chain mail arms, the circles going down the front of the torso, and winged helmet. I’ve seen the costumes, and they did absolutely [frick]ing nail it. Very Walt Simonson. And I think my reputation as someone very critical of most comic book films procedes me here so I’m not just some excited fanboy.
The only thing that is funny about Loki’s costume is that while its gold and has the big horns sticking out, the helmet part of it, meaning the part that actually touches his head, kind of looks like a bicycle helmet, I think more so that it would, practically speaking, stay comfortable on the actor and not move around due to the horns.
The warriors three are also the same kind of medieval future tech look, a little less traditional than the comic but still very very awesome and the look of each of the actors themselves is [frick]ing dead on. Ray Stevenson looks especially cool in a chubby suit. Trust me, I think everyone here is going to be very very pleased as Branaugh just more or less adapted the comic.
