General Mills To Bring Iconic Breakfast Cereal To The Big Screen!

Who loves Count Chocula, Frankenberry and Booberry cereal? My favorite is Count Chocula!

General Mills( the breakfast cereal giant)has optioned off the rights to these breakfast cereal icons! Yep, it looks like with the ever- growing popularity of the undead they are also ready to cash in with these beloved iconic cereal characters.

Count Chocula, Frankenberry and Booberry are all being developed for the big screen and being planned as a trilogy and in 3-D just like every other movie being made these days. The director is being kept a secret for now but check out the list of names for the voice casting possibilities!

FRANKENBERRY: JOHN C REILLY, WILL FERRELL, SETH ROGAN
BOOBERRY: JOHN TRAVOLTA, ROBIN WILLIAMS, WILL ARNETT
COUNT CHOCULA: ROBBERT PATTINSON, SAMUEL JACKSON, MICHAEL KEATON

Pretty cool names huh!

General Mills will also be doing a major tie-in with the release of these movies with a "prize in box" push for the kids to get their own pair of 3-D glasses in a box from one of the three brands.

Production starts this month with a wrap date scheduled for April 1st,2011 (YES April Fools Day!) and i set to hit theaters starting April 1st,2012, April 1st,2013 and April 1st,2014. Well they're either plying a good one on us or the dates are part of their strategy and marketing plans!
