Disney actually bought a pitch for a live-action Cinderella movie? What was the pitch? "Hey, lets tell the story of Cinderella, but in live-action."??? There really isn't much of a pitch to Cinderella, it is what it is, the story has been around for years. But, Disney bought it, and for a pretty heft price. Somewhere in the 1 to 9 million dollar range. They made the 7-figure deal, with writer Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada and 27 Dresses) and she will write the script for the film.
All we know is that the movie will be a reimagining of a already existing classic fairy tale. It's not confirmed that the movie will be in 3D but I have a feeling it will be. That had to have been part of the pitch. There's also no word on if the story will deviate from the original fairy tale. I assume that it will a bit, but it's still the story of Cinderella. Maybe it will be set in modern times? Your guess is as good as mine.
Hmmm... maybe I should go pitch them an idea for a live-action 3D movie of every animated film that they've ever made! Then I could make a million bucks as well.
What are your thoughts on Disney's new found live-action Cinderella idea?
