Zoe Saldana to Play an Assassin in COLUMBIANA

I can see Zoe Saldana as a hardened soulless assassin... can you? She is currently in negotiations to star in a new action thriller being produced by Luc Besson (Transporter) called Columbiana, and Olivier Megaton (Transporter 3) is all set and ready to direct the film which is set to start shooting at the end of summer.

The film was actually written by Besson and Robert Mark Kamen. The story is set in Latin America and the U.S. Saldana would play a young woman who, after witnessing her parents' murder as a child in Bogota, grows up to be a stone-cold assassin. She works for her uncle as a hitman by day, but her personal time is spent engaging in vigilante murders that she hopes will lead her to her ultimate target: the mobster responsible for her parents' death.

All my spare time is spent blogging. I'm sure my life would be much more exciting if I was a bad-ass assassin in my spare time. But the risk of dying is much higher. I could blog about my hits though! I'm sure that would be much more interesting to read about. 

Saldana is really working her way up the Hollywood ladder of fame. She has had co-staring roles in films like Avatar, Star Trek, and The Losers. This role in Columbiana film would be her first major lead role in a film, and I think she will do a fine job taking out human targets in it.
