WINTER'S BONE Movie Trailer and Poster - One of the Best Movies of 2010

Winter's Bone was my number one favorite film up at the Sundance Film Festival this year, it also ended up winning the Grand Jury Prize at the festival, that's gotta tell you that this movie is something special. It's an incredibly well written, and directed film that takes place in a real world setting of a lifestyle that most of us have never seen before.

This is a film I had no knowledge of before seeing it at the festival, and as I watched it I was immediately engulfed in the world and the story that was being told to me, my attention never left what was happening up on screen. It was a frightening thrilling drama that is one of the best films that you will see this year. You can read our review for the film Right Here.

Winter's Bone was adapted from the novel by Daniel Woodrell’s novel about a unflinching Ozark Mountain girl who hacks through a dangerous social terrain as she hunts down her drug-dealing father while trying to keep her family intact. It was craftily directed by Debra Granik, who gave the film a fantastic gritty look, and did an incredible job bringing these characters to life.

The film stars Garret Dillahunt (Deadwood), John Hawkes (Deadwood) who gives a performance worthy of whatever best acting awards he can get his hands on. He was incredible, one of the best acting performances of the year so far. And then there is fairly newcomer Jennifer Lawrence who who also gave an Academy Award worthy performance as the lead girl in the film who set out on a dangerous journey as she goes looking for her father.
