Sam Rockwell Cast in Jon Favreau's COWBOYS AND ALIENS!

If you didn't think Jon Favreau's next film Cowboys and Aliens couldn't get any better, shame on you. Because Sam Rockwell will re-team with Favreau for another comic book movie!

Thats right! He's now officially been cast in Cowboys and Aliens. He joins the already cast Daniel Craig, Olivia Wilde and Harrison Ford in a story about cowboys and indians taking on an alien invasion in the wild west. As you know Rockwell plays an arms manufacturer named Justin Hammer in the Favreau's Iron Man

Rockwell will play a bar owner named Doc in the story who joins in the pursuit of the aliens to help kick some ass. Apparently when Favreau and the writers, Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Damon Lindelof, found out that Rockwell was interested in the movie, they reconceived and expanded on the role, which originally called for a heavy-set man. What? Rockwell couldn't gain the weight?

Rockwell is seriously one of the best actors working in Hollywood right now, and I think it's great that he's joined the cast of this movie, which I'm really looking forward to seeing. The comic book is incredibly fun, and the story and characters should translate very well on the big screen. There is just so much talent behind the movie, I don't see how it will fail.

What are your thoughts on Rockwell co-starring in Cowboys and Aliens?
