Top 50 Video Game Franchises Of All Time - From Guinness World Records

Halo has landed at the top of the Guinness World Records’ list of the 50 greatest video game franchises of all time. All the games on the list were voted on by gamers, but I never saw a survey, I didn't get to vote. Where's my vote! Thats okay though since I pretty much agree with everything on the list. Here is what was said in a statement:

We decided to take a different approach with this list than we did in the previous edition. Instead of asking developers, industry insiders and journalists to rank their favorite titles, we approached a different kind of expert: the players themselves! We are confident that this 'top 50' more accurately reflects the tastes of the average gamer and not just the critics.

So there ya have it folks! The gamers got to choose how the games ranked. Guinness polled gamers between January and August 2009, and here are the results.
