Exclusive: STARGATE: ATLANTIS Lives!
While I was doing my "not-so-professional" investigativee reporting today getting all the lastest scoops for our Army I stumbled up on something that I was sure would happen sooner or later. We are getting a Stargate:Atlantis movie next year by the name of Stargate:Extinction. Pretty cool huh! The series was cut short and only survived five awesome seasons so the creators and Syfy could bring along Stargate:Universe which probably wont make it much longer. The fanbase of Atlantis was very verbal in the premature ending of Atlantis but we are getting us what hopefully is the first in a direct-to-video movie.
Stargate:Extinction is directed by veteran Stargate director Andy Mikata and was written by the also returning team of Brad Wright, Robert C. Cooper, Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie. These guys have spear-headed every single Stargate franchise episode so it's still in good hands!
Stargate:Extinction also brings back our favorite characters minus a few: Joe Flanigan(Lt. Colonel John Sheppard), Jason Momoa (Ronon Dex), Amanda Tapping ( Colonel Samantha Carter), Rachel Luttrell (Teyla Emmagan), Paul McGillion (Dr. Carson Becket), Jewel Staite (Dr. Jennifer Keller), Christopher Heyerdahl (Todd the Wraith), Robert Picardo (Richard Woolsey), Sharon Taylor (Amelia Banks), Kavan Smith (Major Evan Lorne), Chuck Campbell (Chuck the Tech) and David Nykl (Dr. Radek Zelenka). A few names are missing here and this early in the stages I hope they make it aboard! There is no mention of David Hewlett aka Dr. Rodney McKay who was in all 99 episodes and I thought maybe we'd see Torri Higginson who played Dr. Elizabeth Weir retrun from Replicant Heaven somehow. Who knows maybe we will see them, Rodney is the comic relief of Atlantis he has to be onboard!
Stargate:Atlantis has been my favorite out of all the shows so far and now we at least get us a movie! So are y'all excited about the return? How are you liking SGU so far?
