Toy Story 3D: Film Review

ReviewMovie Toy Story by Lola

Fantastic!

I had the opportunity to check out the latest Pixar film and the third installment of the Toy Story movies.  It was very, very well done and lived up to everything I had hoped and even more.

We've all been waiting years for this movie to be released and if you are like me, you grew up watching these films and grew up to love the characters of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Ham, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Rex and so on. It was a very nostalgic and touching film, full of heart, and laughter, cameos, and lots of tears, so I'm not kidding when I say, bring a box of tissues.

The movie starts with Andy getting ready to go off to college (which we all know because of the trailer, so you know I'm not spoiling anything for you), and when the toys are sent to a daycare, all sorts of adventures begin.  There are new characters introduced, including Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear or Lotso (voiced by veteran actor Ned Beatty), Ken doll (voiced by Michael Keaton), Stretch (voiced by Whoopi Goldberg), and Trixie the Triceratops (voiced by Kristen Schaal of Flight of the Conchords fame).

Can I just give a little spoiler... well it's not really a spoiler, but something to keep an eye out for... Do not miss the opening sequence of the movie .... it is FANTASTIC!  Also keep a lookout for the nod to Miyazaki through a Totoro cameo... and there are also other Pixar character cameos, some you really have to look for, but there are always little Pixar characters popping up in their films so I guess it's not really ruining anything for you.

By far, one of my favorite Pixar films.  There are a couple sequences in the film that are just breathtaking.  You really shouldn't miss out on this film no matter what your age.  It is truly one of the best films this year. Take your kids, nieces, nephews, grandma, take yourself!

I don't want to say too much without spoiling it.... so go!  Enjoy it!
