Nicolas Cage Teaming up with CRANK Directors for GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE

Crank directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are currently in negotiations with Columbia Pictures to direct the next installment of the Ghost Rider movie franchise titled, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. This film will serve as a sequel to the horrifically bad 2007 Ghost Rider movie.

Nicolas Cage is also in negotiations to reprise his role as Johnny Blaze, the stunt motorcyclist who, in order to save the life of a loved one, makes a deal with the devil. His soul is twinned with that of a demon, and he becomes a flaming-skulled man driving a motorcycle from hell.

I honestly thought if we saw a new Ghost Rider film it would end up being a complete reboot, because who in the hell would want to see Nic Cage in this role again?! I'm so not excited for this movie. I saw the first film once and never watched it again, because seeing it once was two hours of my life I can never get back.

Of course the plot details are being kept under wraps, but if you read the comic books then it shouldn't be hard for you to image what they might end up doing.

I'm not sure how I feel about Neveldine and Taylor directing the film. The Crank movies were fun, but they were absolutely ridiculous, and it wasn't good filmmaking at all. Maybe a lot of ridiculousness is what the Ghost Rider film franchise needs. Fact of the matter is... no matter who's involved with the sequel, I'm not paying to see this movie.

What do you all think about Neveldine and Taylor directing the film with Cage?
