Out this week on Blu-Ray and DVD 6.15.10

Trailer DVDBlu-ray by Mars

Hey everyone! Just here to let you all know what's coming out this week on DVD. Also just because I am an avid fan I would like to mention that Trueblood, Burn Notice, and Weeds have just started again!! I LOVE those shows. I hope everyone is having a great summer so far if it is summer for you that is. In Washington state right now where I live it's 49 degrees and raining (I think I am the only one that likes it this way instead of the heat). It's perfect weather to get comfy on the couch and play Red Dead Redemption! Anyways! We're off!

Book Of Eli

Determined to salvage a sacred text in order to protect humanity, Eli (Denzel Washington) goes on a quest across the country in this action-packed sci-fi adventure. Meanwhile, a blind woman named Claudia (Jennifer Beals) tries to protect her daughter, Solara (Mila Kunis). It seems that tyrannical town bully Carnegie (Gary Oldman) has taken a shine to the girl. Directed by the Hughes brothers, the film co-stars Ray Stevenson.

Starring: Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman
Director: Albert Hughes

I am not religious and I was afraid this movie would push it on me and to my surprise I never really thought it did. I mean yes he has the last Bible, etc. but he was not preachy about it. The movie had a good pace and it had more action then I thought it would. I think I liked this movie more than The Road with Viggo. The Road was well acted but it was very slow and definitely more depressing than this movie.

Youth in Revolt

Nick Twisp (Michael Cera), a cynical, sex-deprived teenager living a less-than-satisfactory existence, is pushed by the manifestation of his debonair, rebellious id (also Cera) to bed his dream girl, Sheeni Saunders (Portia Doubleday). Miguel Arteta directs this irreverent, dark comedy based on the popular novel series by C.D. Payne. Steve Buscemi, Ray Liotta, Justin Long, Fred Willard, Jean Smart, M. Emmet Walsh and Zach Galifianakis co-star.

Starring: Michael Cera, Portia Doubleday
Director: Miguel Arteta

Anything Michael Cera is in for some reason is gold for me. I even liked Year One...

Unthinkable

When the government gets wind of a plot to destroy America involving a trio of nuclear weapons, locations unknown, it's up to a seasoned interrogator (Samuel L. Jackson) and an FBI agent (Carrie-Anne Moss) to find out exactly where they are. A suspected terrorist who's already in custody is their only chance for a timely answer. But what will it take to get him to talk? Michael Sheen, Brandon Routh and Martin Donovan co-star.

Starring: Samuel L. Jackson, Carrie-Anne Moss
Director: Gregor Jordan

Good movie! Action and suspense. Samuel L. Jackson and Carrie-Anne Moss do amazing!

When in Rome

After fishing out coins from a water fountain in Italy, cynical New Yorker Beth Harper (Kristen Bell) finds herself being wooed by several ardent suitors. As she deals with the attention, Beth tries to figure out whether a charming reporter (Josh Duhamel) really loves her. Danny DeVito, Anjelica Huston, Jon Heder, Dax Shepard and Will Arnett also star in this romantic comedy.

Starring: Kristen Bell, Josh Duhamel
Director: Mark Steven Johnson

No time to watch this one. Please feel free to leave a review in the comments.

Happy Tears

Jayne (Parker Posey) and Laura (Demi Moore) return to their childhood home in Pittsburgh to look after their father, Joe (Rip Torn), a lively widower who may be slipping into dementia. The sisters are soon at odds over their father's care -- and over old family dramas. As Joe's condition deteriorates, they are forced to confront myriad unpleasant memories. Ellen Barkin and Christian Camargo co-star.

Starring: Parker Posey, Demi Moore
Director: Mitchell Lichtenstein

I have a small problem with the whole getting old thing so I avoided this movie, but the cast looks solid.
