If you’re a Halo fan and literate, odds are you’ve already read Eric Nylund’s Halo: The Fall of Reach. The novel, which first released in October 2001, revealed the origin of the game's mysterious protagonist, Master Chief. Those who enjoy pictures more than words will be happy to know that Brian Reed and Felix Ruiz have put together a 4-issue comic adaptation of the novel called Halo: Fall of Reach – Boot Camp, which Marvel Comics will publish this fall.

Before he was Master Chief, he was John -- a boy stolen from his parents and conscripted into the SPARTAN II program on the fortress world of Reach,” reads Marvel's official announcement. “But as the galaxy falls into dark times, one doctor must pay a terrible price to keep humanity from being destroyed.”

It appears Marvel will take the same approach with this that they did with their version Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game. If you followed their version of that, you know that’s a good thing. Halo: Fall of Reach – Boot Camp #1 will be available for purchase in September.
