First Comic-Con Panels Have Been Announced

TV Comic-Con by Joey Paur

Hey Gang! Comic-Con is just around the corner, it's next month, and we here at GeekTyrant couldn't be more excited! This is our favorite event of the year, and we'll all be there to cover the hell out of it, and hang out with those of you who are going. I've really been looking forward to seeing what we can expect this year. There is still no full schedule yet, but there are a few little things that have slipped through the cracks that we can expect to see this year.

It was announced by IGN that Frank Darabont's Walking Dead TV Series will have a panel on Friday, July 23rd 11:30am-12:30pm.

Seat42f is reporting that Mythbusters Panel will take place on Saturday, July 24th in Room 6BCF, and it will be the first time all five Mythbusters will be at Comic-Con.

HBO has not yet confirmed a True Blood panel, but the fine folks at True-Blood.Net interviewed Charlaine Harris, the author of the Sookie Stackhouse novels (and a confirmed Comic-Con Special Guest), and True Blood actor Joe Manganiello, both of whom said the show would be part of the San Diego convention.

Spies over at the Chicago Tribune have been able to confirm that the following shows will have a presence. I should tell you that there's no news yet on which actors and creators will attend panels for their shows. Among the first-timers—Castle, Sons of Anarchy, Archer, No Ordinary Family and White Collar.

Here are some more programs that will have panels this summer:

  • Archer (FX, July 23)
  • Possible panel: Being Human (BBC America)
  • The Big Bang Theory (CBS)
  • Burn Notice (USA)
  • Castle (ABC)
  • Chuck (NBC)
  • Dexter (Showtime)
  • Eureka (Syfy)
  • Possible panel: Look Around You (BBC America)
  • Psych (USA)
  • Hawaii Five-O (new CBS show)
  • It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (FX, July 25)
  • No Ordinary Family (new ABC show)
  • Sons of Anarchy (FX, July 25)
  • Spartacus (Starz, July 23)
  • White Collar (USA)

We'll keep bringing you the Comic-Con news as the July 22-25 event draws closer, so stay tuned!
