Kevin Bacon and Jennifer Lawarence Join the Cast of X-MEN: FIRST CLASS

Hey gang! It's been confirmed that Kevin Bacon has officially signed on to join Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class. It was rumored earlier this month that he would take on the role of the villain, but it wasn't revealed what villain he would play. And even though we have official confirmation that he's signed on, we still don't know who he will end up playing. Variety reports,

Bacon will play a villain, but his exact character is being kept under tight wraps. Some fanboy websites(that would be us!) have suggested that he will play Mr Sinister, Fox have declined comment.

Bacon will make for a fantastic villain in the film, and I'm looking forward to seeing who he ends up playing.

It's also been revealed that Jennifer Lawrence will be taking on the role of Mystique in the movie. It was previously rumored that Amber Heard might get the role, but I guess that isn't going to happen. Lawrence is a freakin' fantastic actress that recently starred in one of my favorite movies of the year, Winters Bone. In the same article at THR it's also been confirmed that Aaron Johnson is now part of the in cast as well, I'm sure he'll play Cyclops.

The young cast of actors also includes James McAvoy (Xavier), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Alice Eve (Emma Frost), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Caleb Landry Jones (Banshee), and Lucas Till (Havoc).

Synopsis:

Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.

What do you think of the casting for X-Men: First Class so far?
