Tim Burton's DARK SHADOWS Gets a Screenwriter

As you know Tim Burton is prepping up to direct a big screen adaptation of the classic 1960's TV series Dark Shadows, with Johnny Depp taking on the lead role of the vampire Barnabas Collins. Warner Bros. is the studio behind the film, and it's scheduled to start production in January of next year.

The studio has hired Seth Grahame-Smith to write the screenplay for the film. You'll be pleased to know that this is the same guy that has written some pretty awesome novels such as Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and most recently Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter. Both of these books are currently in the pipeline to becoming films. Zombies will star Natalie Portman who is also producing, with David O' Russell possibly directing, and Lincoln is being produced by Tim Burton.

I really enjoyed reading Grahame-Smith's work, and I think he'll do a great job punching out a script for Dark Shadows. What do you all think?
