Pixar Changes Mind On CARS 2, Moving To PLANES?

Pixar has decided not to move forward with the planned Cars 2 and now is developing Planes. Now the thing here is if Planes moves forward it will be a direct-to-video film which would be something new to Pixar which is why they have enlisted Disney Toon Studios who busted out such forgetable and disposable non-classics like Bambi 2 and The Lion King 1 1/2.

According to Bleeding Cool  Pixar and CCO John Lasseter are protective of their franchises, so they may serve as consultants in some capacity.  But overall  it looks like Planes won’t really be flying under Pixar’s banner.
