Comic-Con 2010: THE GUILD Panel

TV Comic-Con by Mily Dunbar

So apparently there's this web show called The Guild, about a group of people who play an online RPG similar to World of Warcraft. WoW is an RPG, right? And it's adorable! And it's about charming little weirdos, which is GeekTyrant's target demographic, so you guys should all probably watch it. Also, web shows are really short usually, so it's not a major outlay of time. Google it because I'm too lazy to post a link.

Anyway, it was apparently created by Robin eve and Felicia Day, who also stars as Codex. (Which I'm assuming is her avatar's name.) The only things I know about the show are what they told me, so it would seem that a lot of the show deals with the weird romantic entanglement she has with Fox, played by Wil Wheaton. (In a recurring role, not a regular one, so it's probably not the main focus of the show, but it was the main focus of the episode I saw.) Basically Wheaton plays a total douchebag. Wheaton confessed that it's a serious acting challenge for him come up with justifications for Fox's behavior. The rest of the cast is comprised of an eclectic bunch of misfits who seem charming and entertaining, and according to one Comic-Con questioner, exactly like the people who actually play these games. Episode 4 of the current season features a glorious Bollywood style dance number. You know you want to watch it.

There's also a comic book published by Dark Horse Comics. And that's all I've got. It was their first time at Comic-Con, and they were so excited that they spent most of the anneal thanking people like it was an Oscar acceptance speech. So I don't know the names of all the characters, but I can tell you that Kim Evey's lawyer/agent is a man called Jamie.
