Review: 'DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK' -Takes You On A Bloody Fun Ride!
Don't mess with The Twisted Twins aka Jen and Sylvia Soska! These two beautiful twin neighbors from up north have an underground hit on their hands simply called 'Dead Hooker in a Trunk'. The two co-wrote and co-directed this first offereing and have succeeded on so many levels. I have watched this film now a number of times and love it more everytime I watch it.
Dead Hooker in a Trunk is a bloody thrill ride that warns you bad guys out there, don't put your dead hookers body in the wrong persons trunk! Jen Soska plays the good girl simply known as Geek all the while Sylvia Soska is the ass-kicking Badass and the one who is kicking you in the balls and taking names later! Add their friends Junkie (Rikki Gagne) and Goody Two-Shoes (C.J. Wallis) and we have a car full of bad luck, puking, eye poking, right hooking, road trip of revenge oh and that damned dead hooker in that trunk!
The story is pretty much a road trip from hell that has catastrophies happening around every street corner. From pimps to eye poking to an 18 wheeler drive-by that will simply leave you armless, no really! There is no dull moment in this film at all and this is very surprising on a first outing. DHIAT is an all out bloody thrill ride with just the right touches of blood and guts and humor when it's needed. Rounding out the Soska's first attempt is the score/ soundtrack which helps make this film succeed in so many levels of uber-baddassness oh and an appearance by God (Carlos Gallardo) who will always lead you in the right direction!
The film is making it's festival stops and receiving nothing but the fan's love. One things for sure, the indie film scene has added two more very talented young ladies to it's roster, I don't know if I should be in love with these two girls or go run in fear, I find my self strangely wanting to be their next victim! If you know the fim is at a fest near you don't miss out, get off your lazy ass and go find this raw underground thrill ride of a movie!
Oh and next up for our talented deadly twins, Dog Fight!
