Paramount Hires New Screenwriters to Reimagine the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES

The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot film is moving forward over at Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes production company. Paramount has brought on two screenwriters, Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, to tackle the script and paid them close to $1 million dollars to reimagine the next generation of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This is the same writing team that wrote Iron Man for Marvel.

According to an insider at the studio, Paramount is looking at this as its next huge Transformers like franchise. The film has been put on the fast-track, and the studio wants the first draft of the script turned in by October so they can go find a director right away for a 2012 release.

I'm a huge fan of the Ninja Turtles, I have been since I first came across the comic book in the 80's. Since that time I've enjoyed the animated TV series and the movies that have been made over the years. Now we're going to get to see the Ninja Turtles get a whole new makeover, hopefully it will end up being on the darker side like we've been hearing about. I'm incredibly interested in seeing a more mature Ninja Turtle movie, and I think Bay's Platinum Dunes will be able to give that to us. At least I hope they can!

What do you all think about this new TMNT reboot?
