Teaser For 2010 DOCTOR WHO Christmas Special
The teaser for this year's Doctor Who Christmas Special, which showrunner Steven Moffat has described as "the most Christmassy Christmas special", was just posted on YouTube. Being a teaser, there's not much here, but there is some nice imagery, and with a four month wait for a new episode, I'll take what I can get. Not much has been revealed regarding the special beyond a single image (below), a concept drawing of a redesigned Yeti that emerged in June that is rumored to make an appearance, and a quote from Moffat:
Oh, we're going for broke with this one. It's all your favorite Christmas movies at once, in an hour, with monsters. And the Doctor. And a honeymoon. And ... oh, you'll see. I've honestly never been so excited about writing anything. I was laughing madly as I typed along to Christmas songs in April. My neighbors loved it so much they all moved away and set up a website demanding my execution. But I'm fairly sure they did it ironically!
And here's the trailer:
Well... as a commenter pointed out to me in the comments below, it turns out this was actually a pretty well done fan trailer! I thought some of the shots were kind of familiar, but there was enough new material that I fell for it. Still a pretty nice piece of work, and we have a long wait until Christmas anyway, so this was a nice bone to have tossed our way in the meantime, even though it's not an official bone. This was the work of dwcast25, and below is a second video that shows what images were used and the types of manipulation done to them set to Murray Gold's nice Series 5 "running up and down the corridors" theme.
