Die Hard and Predator Director John McTiernan to take on SHRAPNEL

Movie by Joey Paur

John McTiernan, the director of classic action films such Die Hard, Predator, The Hunt for Red October, The 13th Warrior and several other film has signed on to direct a new action thriller called Shrapnel.

The movie was written by by Evan Daugherty, and the script was on the 2008 Black List or best unproduced screenplays. The story revolves around two war veterans who hunt each other in a deadly game of cat and mouse.

The short plot synopsis definitely sounds like the perfect film for McTiernan, these are the types of films he's good at, and I'm sure it will end up being a cool movie.

There's a little problem with McTiernan's involvement though. He currently "faces sentencing on Oct. 4 after he pled guilty in July to making false statements to law enforcement officials when he was questioned during their investigation of Hollywood private detective Anthony Pellicano. A spokeswoman for the director said that the plea was conditional based on the results of his appeal."

What do you all think about McTiernan taking on this Shrapnel action film?
