Hey gang! Tucked away in a recent article over at Deadline, is a little note with a big update on what is currently going on with the next James Bond film, Bond 23, over at MGM. Apparently the project has seen some movement, which was big enough to make director Sam Mendes drop out of the running for another film he was trying to get called The Hunger Games.
Mendes... bowed out of contention last Friday, and I’m told it was because the MGM picture is clearing up and it looks like production on 007 could begin by late summer or early fall, 2011 with Mendes at the helm and Daniel Craig back in the Aston Martin.
This is some great news indeed! Especially for fans of the James Bond franchise. If everything is clearing up and getting better at MGM then I guess The Hobbit should be gearing up to start production as well, which would validate what we've been hearing recently.
I guess there is a light at the end of the dark tunnel after all.
