DEADLIEST WARRIOR Coming to the Big Screen

Movie Shawn Levy by Joey Paur

Director Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum) and writer/producer Dan Levine are going to take the Spike TV television show Deadliest Warrior and adapt it for the big screen. The movie is being set up over at Paramount Pictures.

Of course the films plot is a secret, so we have no idea how this movie is going to be adapted for the big screen. I absolutely love the TV show! But I have no idea how they can effectively bring this idea to the big screen. I just hope it doesn't end up being something like Mortal Kombat, because that would be lame. I also hope there is no time travel involved. Please let this be good!

Here's the official announcement:

Deadliest Warrior pits history's greatest warriors against one another to determine who reigns supreme. Along with the use of 21st century science and the latest in CGI technology, the series enlists world-class fighters, historians and weapons experts to provide insight into the unique history and style of these combatants which culminates in a head-to-head final fight between two warriors to declare which one would have been the deadliest. The first two seasons showed such memorable battles as Spartan vs. Ninja, Viking vs. Samurai, Pirate vs. Knight, Yakuza vs. Mafia and Comanche vs. Mongol.

Levy is currently directing the film Real Steel with Hugh Jackman. Deadliest Warrior could end up being his next directing gig.

How do you think they will adapt this TV show for the big screen?
