Did anyone really think this film, I'm Still Here, was a real documentary? Well, in case you did, the director of the film Casey Affleck has come out and said that the documentary starring Joaquin Phoenix is fake.
In a recently interview with the NY Times Affleck say's he "never intended to trick anybody…The idea of a quote, hoax, unquote, never entered my mind." He also goes on to say that Phoenix's performance is "the performance of his career.” And that's probably true, but will it win him an Oscar? No.
This has just been a completely bizarre film project from the beginning, fake or not. I would have been more surprised had Affleck come out and said it was real.
What do you all think about this? Do you even care?
