HALO: REACH Makes $200 Million Dollars in 24 Hours

Holy cow! Halo: Reach went out and made a butt-ass load of money! On it's opening day Microsoft's Halo: Reach made more than $200 million freakin' dollars! In one day! ONE DAY! Am I surprised? Not really, after all, this is one of the biggest and most popular video game franchises ever.

This means that Halo: Reach is the biggest release ever for the franchise, it's also the biggest U.S. entertainment launch of the year. THR reports that its one-day gross exceeded the opening weekend box-office hauls of Hollywood blockbusters such as Iron Man 2, Alice in Wonderland and Toy Story 3.

The game exceeded the previous Halo's first-day take of $170 million, which had set the opening record in 2007. However the game fell short of the all time video game record of $310 million, which was taken last year by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

$200 million is not a bad pay day though. Now that everyone knows the franchise is still incredibly strong, can we please get the movie made!?

Yes, I bought the game, and yes, its freakin' awesome!
