It was recently reported that Friday Night Lights star Kyle Chandler and Dakota Fanning's sister Elle Fanning have taken the lead roles in J.J. Abrams highly anticipated secret sci-fi film Super 8. The film has started shooting in West Virgina on Monday.
Now, thanks to THR, we have the names of the rest of the actors that have been cast in the film, and these actors include Ron Eldard (Black Hawk Down), Noah Emmerich (The Truman Show), Gabriel Basso (The Big C), Joel Courtney, Riley Griffiths, Ryan Lee and Zach Mills (Changeling).
There's a few familiar faces and a few people that we really don't know, but I like they cast that they've brought together.
Abrams wrote the screenplay, and he is producing along with his Bad Robot partner Bryan Burk and Steven Spielberg. Paramount Pictures is looking to release the film in 2011.
The film could end up being about three siblings who discover footage of an alien in some Super 8 footage they shot. It will also will be a tribute to Spielberg’s 1970’s/1980’s Amblin films, like Close Encounters of a Third Kind and E.T. It's like combining these amazing films with the characters, mystery and supernatural spin of J.J. Abrams.
