I never, ever would have thought that the children's show Sesame Street would end up doing a parody of the violent, sex filled HBO TV series True Blood. But they did! And, it's really quite bizarre. The parody is called True Mud. Yes, this is really from Sesame Street!
Now, there's nothing bad in it, it's a children friendly parody, but obviously the young Sesame Street audience won't really get where this came from. Now, if a fan of True Blood made something like this for other fans of the show, that would make a lot more sense to me. The fact that Sesame Street did it is just so weird to me.
As weird as it is of course I enjoyed it! And there's no doubt True Blood fans will get a kick out of it as well. I'm sure the fans will enjoy True Mud more than the kids it was made for will.
With the 41st season of "Sesame Street" set to premiere Sept. 27th, there's a surprising source of inspiration for a segment that will be seen later this season: HBO's "True Blood." Here's an exclusive sneak peek at a puppet-filled parody that draws straight from the diner scene that opened the show in the series premiere.
