Hey gang! We've got a little update on what is currently happening with Zombieland 2. The sequel to Zombieland was put into development shortly after the first movie came out and blew up in theaters.
STYD has learned that from actor Jesse Eisenberg that the first draft of the script in finished and has been turned in to Sony Pictures by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Eisenberg has yet to read the script. You know who has read the script though? The director of the first film, Ruben Fleischer, and here's what he had to say about it,
Yeah, I read it. I mean, it's an early draft and we have plenty more to do to work on it, but I think it's going to be amazing, I'm really excited about it.
Fleischer is currently directing a film called 30 Minutes or Less, and he's not sure what his next film project will be. He may not end up directing Zombieland 2 next because he's got a couple other projects on his plate, but it sounds like if he could do it next he would.
I got a couple irons in the fire, so we'll see, but I'd be psyched to do it. I have this buddy cop movie that I sold to DreamWorks that's pretty cool that these guys Arnold and Poole are writing. There's a movie that Mike White wrote called 'Babe in the Woods,' that's a really cool script, so those kind of exist and I guess we'll see what happens.
I loved Zombieland, and all I can hope for is that the sequel will be just as awesome. I'm glad to hear that Fleischer is excited about it. He's also talked about the film possibly being in 3D, at least that what he's trying to talk Sony into, and they'll probably end up doing it.
So thats your latest update on Zombieland 2! What do you all think?
