Edward Sharpe Frontman to Release Solo Record

Music by Wejo

Community Music will soon release Alexander, the first solo album from Alexander Ebert of Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeroes.

Ebert, who has not now or ever been named Edward Sharpe, wrote and produced the record during breaks from touring throughout 2010. Influences range from 70s British group Mungo Jerry to Patty Cake to "Zip a Dee Do Da," according to a press release. He had no outside assistance in making the record.

Alexander will be available for purchase in the US on March 1 (Europe gets it February 28). Ebert will play a handful of shows in Los Angeles and at Austin, TX's South By Southwest before returning to the studio to finish up another ESATMZ album.
