Kathryn Bigelow May Be On The Hunt For Osama In New Black-Ops Thriller

Movie by

Kathryn Bigelow and Mark Boal have two new projects in the works. Triple Frontier has been in development since last year and will hopefully being filming sometime in 2011. The duo also have an untitled international black-ops thriller.

According to Variety IM Global will being to sell rights at the European Film Market in Berlin beginning February 10. They also are reporting that the film “is likely” to begin production before Triple Frontier. It also is reporting that “sources say the plot concerns the hunt for Osama Bin Laden.”

The indie has been reported from the beginning to have a budget of $10m and it was to be filmed in the same manner as The Hurt Locker. Even though Triple Frontier has been in the works for longer, it looks like a matter of scheduling for the stars involved in addition to logisitics issues from filing the politically-charged thriller in South America.

The indie was initially et up as a back up plan to make the most of the Bigelow and Boal's schedules, but the way it is currently looking is that Berlin sales may go well as a result of international appeal pushing the back-up film into front of the line.

Regardless of which film goes into production first I am excited to see more form Kathryn Bigelow. What are your thoughts on this news?
