Liam Neeson To Voice Qui-Gon On STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS

Liam Neeson is set toreprise his role as doomed Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn on Cartoon Network’s Star Wars: The Clone Wars on Jan. 28 and again on Feb. 11.

Qui-Gon will appear to Obi-Wan Kenobi in visiion during a three-part arc about his former protégé Anakin Skywalker’s destiny as the Chosen One.

Neeson is not the first, but he is the most hight profile star to be featured on The Clone Wars. Other guest-stars have included Seth Green, George Takei, Michael York, Ron Perlman, Clancy Brown, and director Jon Favreau.

Neeson agreed to do this show despite the negative reponse to The Phantom Menace because his connection to the story is strong. According to EW Neeson decided to return because he felt that“these characters resonate…even after all these years. Growing up, my heroes were cowboys; they were strong and mysterious, and it seemed like they always rode off into the sunset. For kids today, Star Wars has that same kind of magic. I really wanted to be a part of that.”

Head over to EW to check out a  cool clip from Neeson’s first episode. I love Liam Neeson and think this is pretty cool news. What are your thoughts on this news?
