METEOR GAMES WELCOMES LEADING TECHNOLOGY RECRUITER TO GROWING TEAM

Addition of Michael Hurley Furthers Expansion Efforts for Leading Social Gaming Developer

From the Press Release:

Beverly Hills, Calif – January 24, 2010 - Meteor Games, an innovative social gaming developer focused on creating richer, more engaging content, has named technology and interactive media recruiting veteran Michael Hurley to the newly created role of Senior Technical Recruiter.  Following a year of tremendous growth in which the company doubled its staff to over 60 employees and expanded into 16,000 square feet of office space in Beverly Hills, Meteor Games is rapidly developing the next generation of immersive social games. Hurley will be charged with seeking out and securing the industry’s top talent.

Prior to joining Meteor Games, Hurley served as Senior Technical Recruiter for Disney Interactive Media Group.  During his tenure, he played a key role in helping rebuild technology recruitment and client management within numerous DIMG divisions and personally hired 245 technology employees within three years.

“Our role in defining the next phase of social gaming not only hinges on our ability to create compelling gaming concepts but to also secure the talent necessary to bring them to market,” said Zac Brandenberg, CEO of Meteor Games. “Michael’s ability to identify top players in the technology field has been evidenced by his numerous previous successes, and we are confident that his talents will play an important role in our continued expansion.”

Although the company’s most well known game is Island Paradise, launched last year with nearly 19 million player installs, Meteor has recently been in development on a series of next-stage social games.  Meteor’s next game is currently in alpha testing and scheduled for release in February, with another new title following shortly thereafter.

“I’m thrilled to join the team at Meteor Games as they continue to build the most innovative and cutting edge social gaming team in the industry,” said Hurley.  “They have an amazingly talented staff in place and continuing this trend will be challenging and rewarding.”

Hurley began his career as a technology recruiter over a decade ago and has enjoyed continued success leading teams and recruiting top talent throughout the industry. Within three months of taking over as Division Director of IT Search with Robert Half International Inc, Hurley lead the division to a new all-time high with monthly revenue production increasing by 70% while also ranking as the number one IT search office on the West Coast.
