Thomas Lennon And Robert Ben Garant Take On THE WEE MCGINTY
A new comedy from Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant called The Wee McGinty has been announced Summit Entertainment. A source close to the project referrred to the film by saying "Think Bourne Identity, but plug in a leprechaun instead of Matt Damon."
Lennon and Garant, the writers behind Night at the Museum, have just inked a deal to rewrite the script with Garant in the directors chair and Lennon playing a major supporting role. Mark Gibson and Phil Halprin were the original writers.
The film revolves around a height-challenged wish-granter who loses his memory and settles in with a group of Chicago firefighters. His life is turned upside down when he is discovered by his paramilitary leprechaun brethren.
The movie sounds hilarious. One cool plot point is that the film is reported to include a fire-breathing Doberman. Garant and Lennon just wrapped their fist TV show since Reno 911! for FX called Alabama. This movie sounds hilarious and unique which is good. Lennon is very funny in his roles.
