CHILD'S PLAY Video Game in Development

Games by Joey Paur

The sadistic doll Chucky from the horror film franchise Child's Play is getting a video game adaptation. That's right folks! You will be able to go around as a little doll brutally and stealthily killing people. There's been talk of a new movie for some time now, but it seems there's been no movement on it recently. I guess the next best thing is to see a video game made.

Utilizing an original storyline, players will have the opportunity to play as the killer doll and experience his exploits first hand while extending his gory legacy.  True to the nature of the films, Chucky will use his full repertoire of stealth and guile to dispatch victims in a multitude of distinctive methods.  In the end, it will be up to the player to decide how many (or few) people survive this stealth-action romp.

Sounds like fun, and you can count me in! I understand this might not end up being the best looking or most impressive video game, but I'm hoping it will at least be fun to play. The game is being developed by TikGames which is an indie game studio. It would be cool if they pulled off something awesome.

Here's the full press release:

TikGames today announced an agreement with Universal Partnerships & Licensing to develop and publish the first officially licensed video game based on the Chucky movie franchise.  Currently in development, this interactive title is targeted to launch on console and PC digital distribution platforms this fall.

“We’re proud to be able to bring a fan-favorite movie character, such as Chucky, to gaming platforms,” said Alex Tikhman, Co-Founder and Vice President of Publishing for TikGames. “Fans have been asking for a Chuckygame for years and, soon, gamers around the world will be able to enjoy highly-entertaining, interactive, downright gory experiences with this brand.”
