Anne Hathaway Officially Cast in LES MISERABLES 

About a month ago Hugh Jackman revealed that he wanted Anne Hathaway to star alongside him and Russell Crowe in the epic musical adaptation of Les Miserables. Today it's been confirmed that Hathway has officially been cast in the film, and she will play the part of Fantine.

The Kings Speech director Tom Hooper is set to direct the film. The story follows Jean Valjean (Jackman), who is on the run during the French Revolution from his nemesis, Inspector Javert played by Crowe. The script for the film was written by William Nicholson, and yes, this will be the musical version, and the musicals original producer, Cameron Mackintosh is producing the film as well. It was also revealed that the original score by composer Claude-Michel Schoenberg's will be used as well.

Universal is planning to release the film on December 7th 2012, and it will go into production soon. Hathaway is a solid actress that should do well in the film which is loaded with a ton of great talent. The question is will they be able to awesomely pull off the musical numbers? Can they sing well?
