Carey Mulligan joins Coen Brothers INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS and Spike Jonze's next film

Carey Mulligan has found her next two projects. Variety reports that she has been cast in the female lead in the next film from Coen Brothers next film Inside Llewyn Davis, and is starting talks for the lead in an untitled Spike Jonze project.

For Llewyn Davis, Mulligan will star opposite her Drive co-star Oscar Isaac. The Coens are writing, directing and producing with Scott Rudin. The story focuses on "a musician who tries to make it in the New York music scene in the 1960s."We don't know if Mulligan will have to sing in the film, but she had to do a number of performances in Steve McQueen's Shame.

The untitled Spike Jonze project is being written by Charlie Kaufman and is about "world leaders uniting to discuss cataclysmic events." She will star alongside Joaquin Phoenix in the film being produced by Megan Ellison via her Annapurna Pictures.

Mulligan is down under filming Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby for Warner Bros. Once that film has wrapped she ould the plan is to jump into Llewyn Davis in February, and then moves over to Spike Jonze pic in spring.
