THE AVENGERS had certain scenes shot with an iPhone

The Avengers teaser trailer looks amazing and has me excited to see this film in theaters. Joss Whedon's take on this Marvel property is going to be one that sets the standard for other superhero films to come. The film looks wonderful from a visual stand-point, but it would surprise most people to know that an iPhone was used to film some scenes from the upcoming blockbuster.

The news was revealed by Seamus McGarvey, director of photography for Marvel Studios during an interview with the Irish Film & Television Network. McGarvey states that fans have already seen at least one scene shot with the iPhone in the trailer. Money and equipment was not an issue on this movie, but McGarvey explained thateffective and inspired work doesn’t need to be expensive.

“The beauty of photography or cinema is that you make every choice based on the content at hand. On ‘The Avengers,’ I did a couple of shots on the iPhone and they are in the movie. In fact, they are in the trailer! I understand that sometimes there is no choice and you have to go for the cheapest option, but if you are limited for choice, you can still make poignant decisions that will effect the look of the film.”

Do you have any ideas of which scenes from the trailer were filmed using an iPhone? It is hard for me to tell which scenes because they all look awesome.
