PLANET B BOY begins filming, Screen Gems announces cast

Screen Gems is adapting the award-winning documentary, Planet B Boy, into a feature film. Today it was announced that principal photography has begun. Benson Lee is directing based on a script written by Brin Hill and Chris Parker. The cast includes: Josh Holloway, Laz Alonso, Josh Peck, Caity Lotz and Chris Brown

The story focuses on "an all-star American b-boy crew training to compete in France at the Battle of the Year (BOTY) International Championships. After a decade of defeat, the crew and their coach must go up against the best and greatest b-boys in the world: the Koreans, the Russians and the French who have dominated the original American dance form for the last 10 years."

Planet B Boy is being produced by Beau Flynn, Tripp Vinson and Amy Lo. Following a brief shoot in Los Angeles, the film will continue production in Montpellier, France. Check out a trailer for the documentary below to get a idea of what the film is like:
