Sylvester Stallone will star in the action film The Tomb. Variety reports that Stallone is set to star in the long-gestating project for Summit and Emmett/Furla Films. The film once had Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger as possible stars with Antoine Fuqua at the helm. Schwarzenegger instead chose Lionsgate's Last Stand and Fuqua moved on to direct Southpaw for MGM. The task at hand is to find a replacement for Fuqua. Once that happens a production start date can be announced.
Miles Chapman penned the first draft of the screenplay, with Jason Keller doing a rewrite. The Tomb tells the story of "Ray Breslin, the world's foremost authority on structural security -- specifically prisons. His skills are put to the test when he is framed and put in a high-security prison of his own design and must find the person who put him there."
I think that Stallone is a good fit for this role. One of my favorite parts of Tango & Cash was the part where they were in jail and had to break out. Stallone was also good in Daylight. What are your thoughts on this news?
