Paramount and New Regency team for Darren Aronofsky's NOAH

In June we told you that Darren Aronofsky's Noah was looking as though it was headed to Paramount. Deadline has now confirmed that Paramount and New Regency have confirmed a deal to partner on the Biblical epic. The project has also found a writer, Gladiator's John Logan has been hired to rewrite the script by Aronofsky and Ari Handel. Noah will be produced by Aronofsky and Scott Franklin. The project is being fast-tracked and looks as though it could go into production by next spring.

Here is what Aronofsky had to say about the project:

“Since I was a kid, I have been moved and inspired by the story of Noah and his family’s journey. The imaginations of countless generations have sparked to this epic story of faith. It’s my hope that I can present a window into Noah’s passion and perserverence for the silver screen.”

This film sounds epic and I am looking forward to seeing the scope of this film. What are your thoughts?
