Bill Paxton to Direct KUNG FU film Adaptation?

Movie Bill Paxton by Joey Paur

It's being reported that actor/director Bill Paxton is in talks to direct the big screen adaptation of the classic 1972 TV series Kung Fu with David Carradine. I've always enjoyed watching Paxton in the movies that he's been in. He recently just finished up his HBO series Big Love. Paxton is no stranger to directing either, he direct both Frailty and The Greatest Game Ever Played. Both of which were solidly good movies. I think Kung Fu would be a cool project for him to actually take on, and I hope he ends up getting the gig.

The film’s being put together under the Legendary Entertainment banner to shoot partly in China next summer. For those of you not familiar, the original series tracked the adventures of a Shaolin Monk as he wanders the American West. Armed only with his spiritual training and his skill in martial arts, as he seeks his half-brother, Danny Caine.

What do you all think of Paxton possibly directing the film, and who would you like to see play the main character?
