Rupert Grint almost killed-off midway through HARRY POTTER series

Now that the Harry Potter franchise has come to the end, some interesting news has been released. It's being reported that JK Rowling considered killing off Ron Weasley in the middle of the series. She claims she was in a "dark place" at the time when she was contemplating his demise.

Here is what Rowling had to say in an interview wiht the Telegraph:

"Funnily enough, I planned from the start that none of them would die.

"Then midway through, which I think is a reflection of the fact that I wasn't in a very happy place, I started thinking I might polish one of them off. Out of sheer spite. 'There, now you definitely can't have him any more.

"But I think in my absolute heart of heart of hearts, although I did seriously consider killing Ron, I wouldn't have done it."

I love the series and can not imagine Weasley having been killed off. What are your thoughts?
